THE EDIT · UNDER €50
Proof that good taste doesn’t require financial ruin
Small things, good shapes and suspiciously expensive-looking finds — all under €50.
Because sometimes the €24 lamp is doing more for the room than the €2,000 sofa.
There is a particular thrill in finding something that looks considerably more expensive than it actually is.
A lamp with the right shape. A heavy-looking ceramic bowl. A glass that makes tap water feel unnecessarily glamorous.
None of these things need to cost hundreds. In fact, we would argue that the best rooms are usually a mix of investment pieces, second-hand finds and completely unreasonable excitement over something that cost €18.
So we went looking for the little things doing a suspicious amount of work.
Expensive-looking is a mood, not a price point.

01 · For the table
The things making dinner look more intentional
You do not need an entirely new dinner service. A few good glasses, a nice bowl and something textured underneath the plates will get you surprisingly far.
02 · For the living room
Things with more personality than they strictly need
This is where under-€50 finds get interesting. Lamps, cushions and tiny decorative objects can change the feeling of a room without requiring a furniture delivery window.
Nobody needs to know what it cost.
03 · For the shelf
Tiny things doing unreasonable amounts of work
The easiest place to add personality is usually the smallest one. A shelf, bedside table or sideboard only needs a few objects before it starts looking collected rather than empty.

The little Vase
One Branch. Done.
The room does not need to know the lamp was €29.
Good taste, bad financial decisions avoided
Buy fewer things. Pick the ones with good shapes. Mix them with what you already own. Let something vintage sit next to something that arrived in an Amazon box yesterday.
Nobody is checking the receipt.
Keep it under €50. Keep the personality.
Casa Mellow is about good rooms, questionable restraint and finding the thing that looks much more expensive than it was.
